Cambodian pepper-inspired cafe run by a 21 year old Japanese lady@ RAYS Mrech Kampot Cafe

“Mrech” means pepper in Khmer. It’s a cafe with a gentle atmosphere, and food offerings include unique sweets and snacks with Kampot pepper. The owner, Ms. Kinoshita Reina, came to Siem Reap alone after working for 1 year in Japan. She first came to teach Japanese but ended up meeting a Cambodian who used to live in Japan, and they decided to open a Kampot pepper shop together.
They originally opened it in July last year, but after renovations, reopened as a café with pepper shop in March this year. The interior is air-conditioned making for a cool relaxed environment to enjoy dining and shopping.
