The Cambodian-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) is on the grounds of The Royal University of Phnom Penh. The center was established with aid from Japan in 2004. Since that, it has been training and developing high-competent human resources for Cambodia, enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan through three main activities: Business Training, Japanese Language for Career Development, and Culture and Education Exchange Program.
In order to train individuals who can contribute to the economic development of Cambodia, the center holds seminars for HR and organization management, fi nance, marketing, the Japanese 5S, and customer service, in addition to courses for young entrepreneurs and smaller business owners. The center also helds Japanese Companies Job Fair to support for job seekers in July and December. Japanese language courses with a focus on an understanding of Japanese culture are also available.
To strengthen the friendship between Japan and Cambodia, CJCC holds many clutural exchange events, such as event for Children’s Day, Tanabata, etc. Especially, Cambodia’s largest scale Japanese festival, Kizuna Festival in February, is a familiar event to look forward to for Cambodians and Japanese nationals.
The facilities house a library, 9 seminar rooms, and company information booths. Angkor Kizuna hall is the largest event space with a capacity of 450 people. Seminars, events as well as student gatherings and workshops are held here every day.
The library has the biggest selection of books in Japanese within the country. With an annual fee of US$ 16 visitors can also use the library. (Open 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday, Closed every other Wednesday and public holiday)
A variety of facilities are available such as: A large-sized hall for 450 seats, Medium-sized seminar rooms for 40-120 seats, Small-sized seminar rooms for 10-35 seats. All of the meeting rooms contain chairs, a whiteboard, a flip chart, a screen, and Wi-Fi.
As a symbol of relationship of mutual trust, CJCC has a small shop with no vender in the center. Bags of snacks, vegetables and some other stuff are sold there. Visitors can also purchase them.
At the CJCC Nature Café you can enjoy a nice breeze while eating in the courtyard. Here you can eat Japanese food including Japanese style ramen and Cambodian food. It’s a popular spot with many people chatting with their friends or reading quietly.
