Fresh dough is formed by hand into round tubes after being stretched out thinly on an iron plate. “Nom Thong Mung” is the flagship product that has commercialized these traditional snacks – they are usually found in 10 packs in the likes of market stalls, but as souvenirs they are sold in boxes 1 by 1.

“I’d like foreigners to experience the taste of these traditional snacks – so why couldn’t they be made into souvenirs?” Mr. Morishita, the managing director of Cambodia Tea Time was consulted by a Cambodian tour guide. It took 4 months to prepare the initial product, and they became a big hit the year after the idea for developing the product was originally proposed.

The products are hand made one by one and the company places importance on both the taste and on encouraging the employment of workers. The ingredients are additive free and sourced from local farmers. The snacks are made from freshly squeezed coconut milk for its characteristic rich flavor.
